Director of Quality Assurance

About the role

The Director of Quality Assurance will lead the QA function for a large B2B eCommerce platform serving the healthcare sector. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape global quality strategy, oversee distributed testing teams and manage the quality performance of a worldwide systems integrator.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a global QA strategy and operating model for a regulated B2B environment.
• Lead a distributed QA organization covering manual testing, test automation, performance testing and release validation.
• Govern the quality deliverables of a global systems integrator, ensuring contractual SLAs and KPIs are met.
• Drive automation‑first testing integrated into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with Engineering and DevOps.
• Establish test governance, standards and tooling across all regions and partner ecosystems.
• Ensure platform compliance with security, accessibility and healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Support and Commercial teams to guarantee release readiness.
• Track and report key quality metrics such as defect leakage, test coverage and release defect rate.
• Promote continuous improvement through root‑cause analysis and process optimisation.

Required profile

• 15+ years of software quality assurance experience, including 5+ years in global leadership roles.
• Proven track record in enterprise‑scale eCommerce platforms, preferably in healthcare or other regulated B2B sectors.
• Experience managing offshore or global systems‑integrator partners with contractual governance.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills at executive and technical levels.
