Doctoral Candidate – Equity, Diversity & Inclusion in Clinical Trials

About the role

The EDICT Doctoral Network, funded under Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions, seeks three Doctoral Candidates to advance equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in clinical trials. This full‑time, 36‑month research position will be based at a European partner institution and will contribute to a multi‑disciplinary network of academia, industry and clinical trial organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate standardized EDI metrics and assessment tools for clinical research.
• Create patient‑centric, culturally competent methodologies to improve trial design and conduct.
• Translate EDI principles into practical tools, frameworks, and guidelines for implementation.
• Produce evidence‑based policy recommendations and foster cross‑sector collaboration for systemic change.
• Collaborate with partners across four work packages and disseminate findings through publications and conferences.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a health‑related, social science, or data‑science discipline.
• Strong interest in equity, diversity and inclusion issues within clinical research.
• Ability to work in an international, interdisciplinary research environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
