Duty Manager – Port Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Duty Manager to lead day‑to‑day port operations for a transport and logistics organisation operating in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment. The role covers vessel turnaround shifts, ensuring safe and efficient handling of passengers, vehicles and freight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all port activities during vessel turnaround, coordinating with port authorities, security, stevedores and vessel crew.
• Manage check‑in, boarding and disembarkation processes, ensuring on‑time departures.
• Lead and supervise ground‑operations teams, directing passenger and vehicle flow.
• Maintain compliance with safety and security regulations and produce incident reports.
• Act as the primary point of contact for escalated customer issues and operational incidents.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in transport operations, preferably in airport ground or port/ferry environments.
• Proven experience leading or supervising operational teams.
• Strong decision‑making and organisational abilities.
• Fluent English; French is an advantage.
• Full driving licence.
