EHR Systems Specialist – Ancillary Lab Information Management

About the role

Optum is seeking an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems Specialist focused on Ancillary Lab Information Management. The role bridges clinical laboratory teams and IT, ensuring seamless integration between laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and EHR/EMR platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support the LIMS and its integration with the EHR, monitoring system performance continuously.
• Analyse application issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
• Collaborate with clinical laboratory staff and IT professionals to optimise workflows.
• Participate in job‑related training and adapt working hours as needed for US client collaboration.
• Work in a hybrid model, splitting time between the Letterkenny office and a home‑based office.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated with strong team collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Flexibility to work adjusted hours for training and US client support.

Required skills

• Experience with lab information management systems, preferably Clinisys/Sunquest.
• Proficiency in LIMS administration and EHR/EMR integration.
• Ability to monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
