Electrical Day Technician – Predictive Maintenance Lead

About the role

The Electrical Day Technician will lead the morning shift, coordinating daily activities and acting as the primary point of contact for service providers. This position focuses on predictive and preventive maintenance of a wide range of utility plant equipment, ensuring optimal uptime and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day work with shift technicians, especially during morning change‑over.
• Serve as the main liaison for external service providers.
• Troubleshoot and investigate high‑level faults on utility plant equipment, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Record and investigate deviations, ensuring compliance with quality and safety procedures.
• Execute planned preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Develop and maintain PM schedules, job plans, and SOPs for plant equipment.
• Collaborate with the site planner to identify spare‑part requirements.
• Review and optimise the maintenance programme to achieve target uptime.
• Support the Site Engineer and HV Engineer on root‑cause analyses, capital projects, and complex service isolations.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement measures for plant efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience with HV and LV distribution systems.
• Hands‑on knowledge of turbines, diesel generators, boilers, compressors, pumps, industrial gas installations, and fuel‑oil storage/distribution.
• Ability to make leadership decisions on plant operation, offline/online status, and emergency response.
• Strong capability to mentor and develop technical teams.
• Commitment to safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
