About the role
Join Stryker's R&D team in Carrigtwohill, Cork as an Embedded Linux Software Engineer. You will develop robust, safety‑critical software that directly improves patients' lives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop applications and libraries in C/C++ and create user interfaces using Qt/QML.
- Enable communication between embedded devices and support hardware‑software integration, including system‑level debugging.
- Test, troubleshoot, and maintain deployed applications on Linux‑based platforms.
Required profile
- Minimum a Level 8 degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
- Strong enthusiasm for problem solving and delivering safe, high‑quality solutions.
Required skills
- C/C++ programming
- Qt/QML development
- Linux environment
- GDB, Git, Bash/Shell scripting, Python, CMake
- Hardware communication protocols (TCP/IP, USB)
- Familiarity with Yocto Project and IEC 62304 (advantage)
What we offer
- Hybrid work model (onsite and remote) with 20% travel.
- Competitive salary €51,000 – €86,000 per year, plus incentive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
