Software Engineer, Trust & Safety

About the role

Resend is building tools to make email better for developers and needs a Software Engineer to design and operate anti‑abuse systems. You will create real‑time enforcement, detection pipelines, and automation that protect the platform from bad actors while keeping it open for good senders.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run a millisecond‑latency real‑time enforcement layer.
• Design detection pipelines that move from signal to decision to action across sending, receiving, and account activity.
• Develop detection rules and policies, ensuring safe changes and traceability.
• Detect and contain account takeover and leaked API keys without locking out legitimate owners.
• Automate investigations, appeals, and bulk actions to scale with volume.
• Build, evaluate, and validate ML classifiers for spam and phishing before enforcement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Deep experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and React (including Hono, Next.js).
• Experience with Go for latency‑sensitive services.
• Strong infrastructure and reliability skills (AWS, CDK, Datadog).
• Comfort with APIs, event‑driven architectures, queues, and stateful services.
