Emergency Practitioner (GP) – Part‑time role in Inverness

About the role

This permanent part‑time position (minimum 21 hours per week) is based in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The Emergency Practitioner (GP) combines emergency medicine expertise with primary‑care skills to deliver high‑quality care in a consultant‑supported Emergency Department serving the Highlands.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a senior decision‑maker for patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Provide decision support and advice to Unscheduled Care Practitioners in out‑of‑hours primary‑care teams.
• Participate in a flexible rota covering day, back, night and weekend shifts, with out‑of‑hours commitments recognised in remuneration.
• Contribute to teaching, departmental development and continuous professional development activities.

Required profile

• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) for General Practitioners.
• Eligibility for inclusion on the General Practice Primary Care performers list.
• Applicants may be within six months of completing training.
• Prior experience in Emergency Medicine and completion of resuscitation courses.
