Enhanced/Staff Nurse – Adult Services (Ballybane, Galway)

About the role

The Enhanced/Staff Nurse role is based in John Paul Adult Services, Ballybane, Galway City. It is a permanent, full‑time position within a day‑service setting, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities as the service transitions from campus‑based to community living.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person‑centred nursing care and support to adults with complex needs.
• Assist in developing and reviewing individual care plans, promoting independence and skill development.
• Facilitate informed choice, community participation and positive risk‑taking.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, reporting to the Team Leader/Team Manager.
• Drive service vehicles as required, holding a full clean manual driving licence.

Required profile

• Current registration with NMBI (Live Register), RNID or RGN qualification.
• Full clean manual driving licence valid on Irish roads.
• Fluency in verbal and written English.
• Desirable experience working with adults who have intellectual disabilities and complex needs (training provided).

Required skills

• Clinical nursing competence as per registration standards.
• Ability to assess health needs and implement appropriate interventions.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
