Environmental Health and Safety Officer

About the role

Kepak is seeking a proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to champion safety and sustainability at its Clonee site in Co. Meath. You will help create a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace by ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies, and best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain the Health & Safety Management System.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and environmental inspections.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near‑misses and unsafe conditions, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and internal procedures.
• Develop safe systems of work, policies, procedures and deliver inductions, toolbox talks and training programmes.
• Manage waste, recycling programmes and environmental controls; support sustainability projects.
• Assist with internal and external audits, track corrective actions and prepare monthly EHS reports and KPI dashboards.
• Support emergency preparedness and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, construction, engineering, logistics or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Full driving licence.
• Desirable: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent, IOSH Managing Safely.
