Field Service Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer at Applied Materials you will be the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading cutting‑edge semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics for troubleshooting and work in a fast‑paced, technically demanding environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and upgrade advanced semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues using digital analytics and diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to identify faults.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure equipment uptime.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher in a technical field.
• At least 2 years of field service or customer support experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Strong communication skills and customer‑focused mindset.
• Willingness to work 24/7 shifts, travel ~20% and lift up to 35 lb.

Required skills

• Electrical and mechanical schematics interpretation.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
