Early Career Field Service Engineer (Leixlip)

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while ensuring high‑quality performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Install, commission and upgrade semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
• Use digital diagnostic tools and data‑driven approaches for predictive maintenance.
• Coordinate directly with customers to support operations and ensure equipment reliability.
• Work in cleanroom environments following safety and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (graduating 2026) in engineering or related field.
• Basic mechanical aptitude in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work day/night shifts in cleanroom settings.
