Finance & Cost Manager – Project‑Based Role

About the role

Join a fast‑growing, project‑focused organisation as a Finance & Cost Manager. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will own the commercial and financial performance of live projects, ensuring strong cash‑flow management and robust financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage applications for payment, valuations, claims, variations and final accounts.
• Drive cash collection, improve working‑capital performance and maintain cash‑flow forecasts for senior leadership.
• Monitor project profitability and provide commercial insights to support strategic decisions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Handle customer claims, payment disputes and contract‑related issues.
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier payment processes.
• Assist with commercial negotiations and contract administration.
• Act as a trusted adviser on commercial risks and opportunities.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives for reporting, financial controls and cash‑management processes.

Required profile

• Significant experience in cost, commercial or financial management within a project‑based environment.
• Proven track record managing valuations, contract claims and cash‑flow.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure or similar sectors.
• Professional qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, RICS) are desirable but not mandatory.
