Finance Director – Strategic Leadership Role

About the role

This senior finance position combines strategic commercial partnering with operational finance leadership for a global pharmaceutical company. You will work directly with the Ownership, CEO, CFO and international leadership teams, influencing performance and decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic Partnering – Provide financial insight, scenario planning and decision support to the GM and leadership team.
• FP&A Leadership – Own annual budgets, forecasts and long‑range planning processes.
• Board Reporting – Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual packs with clear commentary and recommendations.
• Financial Control – Lead close processes, balance‑sheet ownership and working‑capital management.
• Statutory Compliance – Manage year‑end reporting, audit process and statutory obligations.
• Tax & Treasury – Oversee local tax compliance, cash‑flow, banking and treasury matters.
• Team Leadership – Develop and mentor a high‑performing finance team.
• Continuous Improvement – Drive automation, stronger controls and scalable finance processes.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant from a large practice.
• 10+ years progressive finance experience across industry and/or practice.
• Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision‑support experience.
• Proven leadership managing finance teams and senior stakeholders.
• Technical accounting, audit and statutory reporting expertise.
• Experience in pharma, life sciences or other regulated industry is advantageous but not essential.
