Financial Accountant – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

You will join a global manufacturing organisation as a Financial Accountant on a 12‑month contract, working on‑site in Clare. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial insight, supporting decision‑making through robust analysis, and ensuring high‑quality reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the sales commission programme, resolve discrepancies and act as the primary contact for commission queries.
• Perform month‑end closing activities, including journal postings, payroll entry reviews, and bank, intercompany and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packs and validate purchase transaction coding.
• Develop and maintain financial models for revenue, cost and profitability analysis, monitor variances and provide commentary.
• Conduct scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and support strategic decision‑making.
• Support P&L, balance‑sheet and working‑capital management, participate in quarterly and year‑end closes, and assist with the annual audit.
• Take responsibility for Group Service reporting across Ireland and corporate level, and contribute to major project financial oversight.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar commercial or analytical finance role.
• Proven experience in FP&A, financial analysis and business partnering.
• Strong background in financial modelling and variance analysis.
• Experience with SAP and Salesforce; exposure to systems implementation projects is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong modelling capability.
