Financial Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a leading Irish retailer to recruit a Financial Accountant who will report to the Head of Finance. The role offers broad exposure across the finance function, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and strategic growth projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and execute month‑end close activities.
• Analyse financial data and provide key information to senior management.
• Manage cash flow, perform reconciliations and support cash‑management processes.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Oversee year‑end close and coordinate the audit process.
• Handle tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Review and improve finance processes and procedures, including financial systems.
• Lead and develop junior finance team members.
• Support finance transformation projects across the organisation.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant, preferably with retail or FMCG experience.
• Strong analytical abilities and results‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent technical competence and hands‑on financial acumen.
• Effective communication, customer‑care and people‑management skills.
• Proven planning, organisational and leadership capabilities.
