Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join a well‑established organisation in County Longford. The role supports the Finance Department by delivering accurate financial reports, maintaining robust controls, and providing commercial insight to drive business success.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
• Carry out balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Analyse financial and operational performance variances.
• Manage accounts receivable processes and debt‑control procedures.
• Monitor cash flows and perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist with sales and capital budgets and maintain asset registers.
• Support inventory reviews and analyse stock variances.
• Prepare VAT returns and coordinate grant applications.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit standards.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Background in financial accounting and month‑end reporting.
• Experience with budgets, reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Familiarity with VAT and audit preparation.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong organisational ability.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Experience in a manufacturing or operational finance environment is a plus.
