Financial Accountant

About the role

Ornua, a leading global dairy co‑operative, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Finance team in Dublin. The role involves preparing financial statements, supporting month‑end and year‑end processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and conduct inventory valuation analysis.
• Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage general ledger and journal entries.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Improve financial controls and processes.
• Produce ad‑hoc financial reporting as required.

Required profile

• Recently qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with Big 4 experience.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated, dynamic and practical problem‑solver.
• Experience with cost accounting or sales performance measurement is an advantage.
