Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our fast‑paced Finance team. You will support trading operations, prepare financial and regulatory reports, and gain exposure to global financial markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis to trading operations support teams.
• Manage the trading P&L and balance sheet for a Susquehanna trading entity.
• Prepare month‑end reporting packs for multiple group entities and present to management.
• Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements at year‑end.
• Maintain accounting systems in line with GAAP.
• Perform fair‑value accounting under IFRS 9 and IFRS 13, including hierarchy classification.
• Handle intercompany accounting, fee recharges, and monthly intercompany journals.
• Liaise with external audit teams, respond to queries, and document accounting policies.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement and control‑enhancement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACMA).
• Minimum two years’ experience in an accounts production environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
• Experience preparing audit schedules and working directly with external auditors.
• Exposure to Asset & Wealth Management, Capital Markets or Financial Services audit is desirable.
• Familiarity with fair‑value hierarchy concepts (IFRS 13 Level 1/2/3) and financial instrument pricing.
• Big 4 Financial Services audit training background welcomed.
• Flexible team player with strong problem‑solving abilities.
