Financial Accountant

About the role

Our client, a leading FMCG organisation, is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role will involve preparing management accounts, supporting month‑end close and contributing to financial projects. The position is initially offered on a contract basis with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Month‑end close activities, reconciliations and journal entries
• Balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management
• Intercompany reconciliations and fixed‑asset management
• Oversight of VAT, PAYE/PRSI, VIES, Intrastat and other statutory filings
• Preparation of annual financial statements and audit support
• Support for process improvements and financial projects
• Assistance with debtor/creditor management and KPI reporting

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with solid experience in a similar role
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and proactive approach
