Financial Accountant

About the role

SoftCo is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Finance team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will be responsible for core accounting functions, revenue recognition, month‑end close, and supporting audit and statutory reporting across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post month‑end journals, including deferred revenue and payroll journals for all entities.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and own assigned general‑ledger accounts.
• Reconcile intercompany balances across group entities.
• Support month‑end close, management accounts, and board reporting.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with the annual audit process.
• Support statutory accounts preparation and related filings.
• Assist tax compliance activities such as VAT, corporation tax, and other filings.
• Analyse financial data, variances and trends to aid decision‑making.
• Support finance‑system activities, master‑data management and reporting improvements.
• Drive ongoing process improvement and maintain finance controls and documentation.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA qualified with up to 3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and solid understanding of month‑end close processes.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and reporting skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience with SaaS‑based revenue accounting is preferred.
• Multi‑entity accounting experience is an advantage.
