Financial Controller – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

The Children's Health Foundation is seeking a Financial Controller on a six‑month fixed‑term contract to support the finance team during the implementation of a new finance system. You will ensure continuity of core finance operations, maintain robust controls, and deliver accurate reporting throughout the transition.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate book closure.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and analyses for budget holders across fundraising, philanthropy, marketing and grants teams.
• Partner with business units to provide financial guidance and support decision‑making.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic re‑forecasting.
• Support the review and update of finance procedures.
• Maintain stability of finance operations during system and organisational change.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial reporting, month‑end close and budgeting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and act as a business partner.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Experience supporting finance system implementations or major change projects.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
