Financial Controller

About the role

This is a hands‑on, commercially focused finance leadership position reporting directly to the Managing Director of a well‑established Irish‑owned business. You will own the finance function and act as a strategic partner to the senior leadership team, influencing decisions that drive business performance and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and board reporting.
• Deliver cash‑flow forecasting, margin analysis and commercial insight to support decision‑making.
• Own budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring strong cost control and commercial focus.
• Partner with senior leadership on financial modelling and strategic planning.
• Manage audit, banking relationships, payroll and statutory compliance.
• Drive improvements across systems, reporting and processes to support scalability.
• Lead and develop a small finance team.
• Contribute at board level, supporting commercial strategy and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA).
• Proven experience in a hands‑on finance leadership role within a growing SME.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence decision‑making.
• Experience managing external stakeholders such as auditors and banks.
• Proactive, driven and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
