Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead our finance function across multiple jurisdictions, including Ireland, the UK and the US. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management of budgeting, reporting and cash‑flow processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function, covering budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and financial control.
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, annual financial statements and board reports.
• Manage cash flow, treasury, working capital and liquidity, driving improvements in net working capital.
• Oversee core finance operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking and general ledger activities.
• Ensure compliance with tax, audit, statutory reporting, governance and regulatory requirements across Ireland, the UK, the US and other jurisdictions.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
• Support strategic initiatives including M&A activity, refinancing, capital expenditure projects, investor relations and business growth planning.
• Provide commercial insight through financial modelling, analysis, pricing support and investment appraisal.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives, including ERP implementation, automation, process optimisation and reporting improvements.
• Manage relationships with the Board, senior leadership team, auditors, banks and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with 10+ years post‑qualified experience.
• Strong background in financial management, reporting, controls, compliance and governance within an industry environment.
• Experience operating in a multi‑entity and/or international business setting.
• Deep knowledge of UK/Irish GAAP, IFRS, taxation and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience managing budgets, forecasts, cash flow and financial planning processes.
• Experience with ERP systems and finance technology, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence decision‑making and support business strategy.
