Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to establish and lead the finance function for the new Sofitel Dublin Airport Hotel. The role covers pre‑opening set‑up and ongoing day‑to‑day finance operations once the hotel opens.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation and integration of hotel systems (PMS, POS, finance platforms) and ensure all interfaces are tested and operational before opening.
• Design, document and implement finance SOPs and internal control frameworks in line with Sofitel and group standards.
• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations, including revenue, purchasing, payables, receivables, cash and banking.
• Oversee month‑end close, monthly reporting to Head Office and provide clear commentary and variance analysis.
• Maintain balance‑sheet control, perform reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Handle cash management, cash‑flow forecasting and working‑capital optimisation.
• Partner with the General Manager and operations leaders to deliver commercial insight and improve profitability.
• Own the annual budgeting process and lead hotel forecasting (revenue and cost).
• Ensure compliance with Irish VAT and local statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, preferably in the hotel or hospitality sector.
• Strong ability to build relationships with senior operational leaders.
• Demonstrated capability to provide commercial insight and act as a business partner.
• Leadership experience managing a finance team.

Required skills

• Implementation and integration of PMS (Property Management System) and POS (Point‑of‑Sale) platforms.
• Financial reporting and budgeting tools.
• Cash‑flow forecasting and working‑capital management.
• Knowledge of Irish VAT regulations.
