Financial Controller – Navan

About the role

Our client, a growing Irish motor‑retail business, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for financial control, reporting, cash management, compliance and providing commercial insight to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close and produce accurate management accounts.
• Maintain balance‑sheet controls, oversee reconciliations and analyse performance.
• Manage day‑to‑day cash position, working capital, debtors, banking and treasury activities.
• Ensure statutory and Revenue compliance, support annual audit and uphold financial controls.
• Partner with senior management on commercial decisions, vehicle stock funding and profitability analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, supplier payments and debtor balances.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team and act as a trusted partner to directors.
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, reporting and controls.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA).
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader.
• Strong background in management accounting, financial reporting and cash‑flow management.
• Hands‑on, strategic yet operational mindset.
• Excellent people‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
