Financial Controller – Waterford

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead all financial operations within the accounting and finance department, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and effective cash management. Based in Waterford, this permanent position offers the chance to shape financial processes in a dynamic organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual group reports in line with IFRS/US GAAP and corporate timelines.
• Oversee statutory financial statements preparation and submission according to local GAAP.
• Maintain a robust internal control environment and manage the SOX compliance framework.
• Act as primary contact for internal and external auditors on SOX and audit matters.
• Lead external and internal audit processes and ensure timely delivery of audit requirements.
• Manage corporate tax compliance, VAT, payroll taxes and liaison with external tax advisors.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, banking relationships and treasury controls.
• Administer company insurance policies and ensure adequate coverage.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, analysis and statutory compliance.
• Experience with audit, technical accounting and preferably in pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
