Fresh Produce Procurement and Stock Controller

About the role

Sam Dennigan & Co., one of Ireland's largest fresh produce providers, is seeking a Fresh Produce Procurement and Stock Controller. You will be responsible for sourcing fruit and vegetable products from Ireland and overseas, managing stock levels, and driving sales across the customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Manage short, medium and long‑term stock of fruit & vegetable products in a fast‑paced environment.
• Liaise with suppliers to source fresh produce for resale from Ireland and overseas.
• Accountable for profitability and stock management of product lines, balancing stock and reporting on rolling inventory.
• Communicate daily with Quality and Operations teams to ensure efficiency, checking quality, quantity, shelf‑life, waste and handling product complaints.
• Build and maintain relationships with independent customers and suppliers.
• Plan and organise transport logistics to ensure timely delivery to the warehouse.
• Assist senior management in introducing new products and expanding the customer base.

Required profile

• Experience in the fresh produce industry or a similar fresh‑food/retail environment.
• Previous responsibility for stock procurement.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to react quickly to change.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Reliable, flexible and resilient attitude with a team‑player focus.
