About the role
The Connemara Pony Breeders' Society is seeking a General Manager to lead a nationally respected organisation at the heart of Ireland's equine heritage. This full‑time, hybrid role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight to ensure governance, financial sustainability and organisational growth.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic and operational management of the Society
- Governance, compliance and risk management
- Financial planning, budgeting and reporting
- HR leadership and team development
- Delivery of Council decisions and organisational objectives
- Building and maintaining relationships with members, stakeholders and industry partners
Required profile
- Confident senior leader comfortable in a regulated environment
- Strong governance and compliance experience
- Proven financial management and budgeting expertise
- HR and people leadership capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Sound judgement, integrity and professionalism
- Experience with boards, councils, charities, member‑based organisations or regulated bodies is highly regarded
