About the role
The position of Registrar in General Medicine will commence on Monday 13th July 2026 at Bantry General Hospital, Cork. The role is based in a Model 2R hospital serving a large rural catch‑area that includes West Cork, South Kerry and numerous inhabited islands.
Key responsibilities
- Provide acute general medical services to a population of at least 60,000 residents, which can rise to 120,000 during the summer months.
- Work within the Bantry General Hospital team, which is part of the Cork University Hospital Group.
- Collaborate with the academic partner, University College Cork, on clinical teaching and research activities.
Required profile
- Qualified medical doctor eligible for registrar appointment in Ireland.
- Willingness to work in a rural, geographically extensive health service area.
