General Operative – Quarry

About the role

We are looking for a reliable General Operative to join our quarry and factory operations. You will work with a team that extracts, processes and supplies Irish Blue Limestone for construction projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Cut stone using saws and wire‑saws in the quarry or factory.
• Load, unload and move materials with a forklift or gantry, and handle waste disposal.
• Manually lift and position stone, blades, timbers and skids.
• Process stone to finished product, operate palletising and packaging lines.
• Operate heavy machinery such as loaders, dumpers, excavators, drill rigs and cranes.
• Grade slabs for quality, clean work areas with power washers, and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Print and attach labels to slabs using computer‑controlled equipment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a quarry, construction site or similar heavy‑industry environment.
• Ability to work safely on level and uneven ground and follow scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Willingness to follow health‑and‑safety guidelines and report paperwork to supervisors.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of €17.02
• Shift allowance of 22% for shift work
• 22 days annual leave, pension, sick pay and death‑in‑service benefits
• 39‑hour work week with overtime at time‑and‑a‑half
