Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our project team. In this entry‑level position you will support the mechanical engineering and design activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring that design standards and procedures are consistently applied.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and conduct mechanical engineering and design tasks, supporting package owners.
• Ensure the design management process is followed, including design reviews and documentation.
• Read and promote the Mechanical Safe Systems of Work (MSSW) and comply with the EHS plan.
• Prepare pre‑qualification packs (PQP) and RFQs for design services and equipment, coordinating with procurement and quantity surveyors.
• Maintain procurement and design schedules, tracking technical submittals to achieve status A.
• Utilise the project documentation workflow for generation, peer review, submission and distribution.
• Assist in developing project‑specific Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and system trackers.
• Support planning activities by providing input to the project schedule and monitoring delivery dates.
• Perform technical reviews, raise RFIs and contribute to design responsibility matrices.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Understanding of EHS procedures and ability to promote safe work practices.
• Familiarity with procurement processes, including preparation of RFQs and PQPs.
• Ability to work with project documentation, quality plans and inspection & test procedures.
• Strong analytical skills to review designs, raise queries and track deliverables.
