Group Financial Controller

About the role

This senior leadership position reports to the Group CFO and owns the consolidated reporting, controls and statutory compliance for a large Irish group with €90m+ revenue. You will drive the finance transformation agenda, embedding analytics, KPI reporting and AI-driven automation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly consolidation and preparation of group management accounts with performance commentary.
• Manage annual budgeting, quarterly re‑forecasting and liaise with divisional MDs.
• Design and embed a group‑wide KPI framework and build financial analytics dashboards (Power BI or equivalent).
• Identify and implement AI and automation use cases in finance processes.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies and procedures across all entities.
• Lead, develop and mentor a finance team of 8‑12 professionals.
• Oversee treasury, cash‑flow management and banking relationships.
• Partner with the CFO on acquisitions, system upgrades and capital investment appraisal.
• Own the year‑end audit and ensure timely statutory filing under FRS 102/IFRS.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with 10+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven senior finance experience leading group consolidations across multiple legal entities.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of FRS 102 and/or IFRS.
• Commercial mindset with ability to influence senior non‑finance stakeholders.
• Experience with ERP implementation or optimisation.
• Comfortable working in a privately‑owned, owner‑managed environment.
