Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced finance leader to head the Group Financial Control function of a large, capital‑intensive organisation undergoing rapid growth and transformation. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for financial reporting, regulatory compliance, planning, and governance across a multi‑entity environment while supporting major capital investment programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of group financial statements, statutory accounts and ensure robust financial governance.
• Manage regulatory reporting, audit processes and compliance with applicable financial standards.
• Drive long‑term financial planning, forecasting, scenario modelling and performance dashboards for senior leadership and the Board.
• Provide financial oversight and analysis for large‑scale capital investment projects.
• Build and develop a high‑performing FP&A and business partnering team.
• Support strategic decision‑making through detailed financial analysis and commercial insight.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives, including ERP enhancements and process optimisation.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 8‑10+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven senior finance leadership or Group Financial Controller experience in a complex, capital‑intensive organisation.
• Strong background in financial reporting, FP&A, governance and business partnering.
• Experience overseeing large capital investment programmes and multi‑entity reporting.
• Track record of delivering finance transformation and leading high‑performing teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication abilities.
