Group Financial Controller – Senior Finance Role

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will join the senior finance team of a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed construction group. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead financial reporting, controls and continuous improvement across the organisation while managing a large finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and analysis of Group Financial Statements, trading updates and stakeholder commentary.
• Own the financial forecasting process for the group and its subsidiaries.
• Manage and develop large accounting teams, providing technical guidance and professional development.
• Oversee the annual external audit, ensuring timely completion and statutory compliance.
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls across all entities.
• Identify and drive finance‑process improvement projects, leveraging technology and systems.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support business development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years post‑qualification experience in a senior finance role, preferably within construction.
• Strong technical accounting expertise and experience with multi‑entity group structures.
• Proven ability to lead large teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
