Group Financial Controller (SME)

About the role

We are seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a fast‑growing Irish SME. Based in Blanchardstown with a hybrid schedule (four days onsite), the role offers a clear path to Finance Director.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations across 14 legal entities (9 trading).
• Lead and mentor a small accounts team of two staff members.
• Prepare and present management accounts and statutory year‑end packs.
• Develop P&L forecasts, cash‑flow projections and monitor balance‑sheet items.
• Manage payroll, VAT returns and CSO submissions to ensure tax compliance.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with external accountants, banks and regulatory bodies.
• Provide financial insight to senior management and drive continuous improvement of month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience at Finance Manager or Financial Controller level.
• Strong technical accounting expertise in reporting, forecasting and compliance.
• Excellent organisational ability to handle multiple entities simultaneously.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a focus on process improvement.
• Outstanding communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
