Head of Data Strategy & Governance

About the role

Stalis is seeking a senior leader to shape and scale its data governance and change practice across Ireland and the UK. As the Head of Data Strategy & Governance you will be the primary voice on data strategy, defining methodologies for clients and driving successful engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Own and expand the governance practice, including frameworks, artefacts, and operating models covering data ownership, stewardship, quality, lineage, classification, retention, access, and health‑care regulatory overlays.
• Design and lead the end‑to‑end engagement methodology from discovery workshops through strategy formulation to delivery.
• Drive the change side of projects: stakeholder engagement, data‑literacy uplift, governance committee establishment, and operating‑model transformation.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of consultants and analysts to deliver governance work in both markets.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors, DPOs, CIOs, heads of quality and regulation, and board members, positioning Stalis as a long‑term partner.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading end‑to‑end data governance programmes, including operating models, committees, roles, tooling decisions, and change management.
• Deep knowledge of Irish or UK health and social‑care data regulations, with the ability to build credibility in the other market within 12 months.
• Track record of building and leading delivery teams in consultancy, advisory, or internal transformation settings.
• Senior‑level client presence, comfortable engaging with C‑suite and board members.
