Health & Safety Officer – Limerick

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Officer to join our team in Limerick. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will champion a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a positive health and safety culture across the site.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards and develop safe operational procedures.
• Deliver in‑house training (including manual handling) and lead regular site inspections.
• Investigate incidents and maintain accurate H&S records and reports.
• Advise on specialist areas such as fire regulations and DGSA‑related hazardous material transport.
• Monitor HSE legislation and support continuous improvement of environmental procedures (ISO 14001).
• Participate in environmental initiatives such as waste management and energy reduction.
• Balance office‑based duties with travel to various sites.

Required profile

• Minimum third‑level qualification in a related discipline.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing or service environment.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental issues.
• Ability to deliver training, communicate clearly and meet deadlines.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a salary range of €40,000–€50,000 paid monthly.
• Working hours: 8:15 am–5:00 pm (Mon‑Thu) and 8:15 am–4:00 pm (Fri).
