Healthcare Assistant

About the role

Caremark is seeking compassionate Healthcare Assistants to provide personal care and support to service users in their own homes. You will help maintain dignity, promote independence, and support both routine and specialised needs of clients ranging from temporary illness to terminal care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with morning and evening routines, including dressing, washing, bathing and toileting.
• Support mobility, manage incontinence, and operate personal aids and equipment.
• Provide care for temporarily sick or terminally ill service users.
• Encourage mental and physical activity through conversation, outings, reading, writing and hobbies.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as making beds, cleaning, emptying commodes and tidying.
• Prepare, serve and clear light meals, and handle washing up.
• Document reports, participate in service‑user reviews and report significant health changes.
• Adhere to Caremark policies and promote client independence wherever possible.
