About the role
The Renal Unit at Raigmore is seeking two enthusiastic Healthcare Support Workers to join a busy 15‑bay dialysis service. You will work 30 hours per week delivering high‑quality care to around 70 patients each week.
Key responsibilities
- Assist registered nurses and renal nurse practitioners with patient care during dialysis sessions.
- Provide direct support to patients, ensuring comfort, safety and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records and help with the preparation and cleaning of dialysis equipment.
- Participate in renal‑specific competency training and work towards an SVQ qualification.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment, communicating effectively with clinical staff.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic and compassionate attitude towards patient care.
- Ability to work a 30‑hour weekly schedule in a fast‑paced clinical setting.
- Willingness to undertake renal‑specific training and achieve SVQ status.
- Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
Required skills
- Basic patient care and hygiene procedures.
- Understanding of infection control and health‑and‑safety standards.
- Ability to follow detailed clinical protocols.
