About the role
Teaching and learning is the core focus of Kilkenny and Carlow ETB. The History Teacher will deliver the History curriculum, plan lessons, assess students and contribute to school development.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the syllabus and cross‑curricular links.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback and maintain records of achievement.
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Participate in departmental planning, curriculum development and extra‑curricular activities.
Required profile
- Registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland and hold recognised teaching qualifications.
- Demonstrated professional knowledge of History subject matter and pedagogy.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building and self‑management skills.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of History curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Ability to use a range of teaching materials and technologies to engage learners.
