About the role
The Hotel Accountant will support the financial health of the property by managing daily accounting operations, forecasting revenue, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and Director of Operations, the role works closely with all department heads.
Key responsibilities
- Effective roster management to align staffing with business demands and revenue targets.
- Weekly revenue forecasting for Food, Beverage, and Spa operations.
- Processing payroll and handling related activities, including P30 returns.
- Preparation of month‑end accounts, including profit & loss statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and bimonthly VAT returns.
- Purchase and stock management in coordination with department heads.
- Assisting with year‑end audit and liaising with external auditors.
- Supporting monthly forecasts and the annual budgeting process.
- Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitoring income streams from card, cash, cheque, and bank transfers.
- Performing ad‑hoc financial duties as required.
