HR Specialist – Agribusiness & Retail

About the role

This position is a hands‑on HR Specialist role within a leading Irish organisation operating across agribusiness, retail and food sectors. You will partner with managers across multiple business units, supporting day‑to‑day HR activities and contributing to people initiatives that drive engagement, performance and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with managers to provide advice and support across the full employee lifecycle.
• Manage recruitment and talent acquisition to attract and retain high‑calibre talent.
• Support employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes.
• Ensure HR policies and procedures remain compliant with Irish employment legislation and best practice.
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing initiatives and internal communications.
• Coordinate onboarding, induction and employee development programmes.
• Assist with succession planning and talent development initiatives.
• Support HR systems, performance management and time‑and‑attendance processes.
• Contribute to HR projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation.
• Excellent communication, organisational and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience supporting employee relations and performance management.
• Strong IT skills; experience with HR systems is an advantage.
