Indirect Procurement Buyer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Indirect Procurement Buyer to join a leading retail business in Cork. The role focuses on managing indirect spend categories, driving cost savings, and ensuring best‑in‑class procurement practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for indirect spend categories such as packaging, marketing, HR and professional services.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities, from market analysis to supplier selection, negotiation and contract award.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities through spend analysis and supplier consolidation.
• Oversee the tendering process, ensure compliance with procurement policies, and support contract management.
• Monitor supplier performance, pricing compliance and contract effectiveness, providing regular reports and insights.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or buying.
• Proven track record of negotiating high‑value contracts and delivering commercial savings.
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to influence and build relationships at all organisational levels.
• Relevant procurement qualification (CIPS or equivalent) is desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with procurement or ERP systems, preferably Oracle iProc.
