Indirect Tax Compliance Specialist

About the role

Primark is looking for an Indirect Tax Compliance Specialist to join its finance team. You will ensure accurate indirect tax filings across multiple markets, support audits, and help drive process improvements while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, prepare and review indirect tax and statistical returns for several international jurisdictions, guaranteeing timely filings and payments or refunds.
• Manage indirect tax balance‑sheet reconciliations, ensuring all postings are complete, accurate and compliant.
• Partner with external advisors and internal stakeholders to fulfil global indirect tax obligations and support audit activities.
• Contribute to indirect tax projects such as new entity or jurisdiction roll‑outs and ad‑hoc advisory initiatives.
• Identify and implement improvements to tax compliance processes, systems and operational efficiency.
• Support the Indirect Tax Compliance Manager by leading, developing and mentoring Finance Associates.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting or tax qualification (CTA, ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent preferred).
• Hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing VAT/sales‑tax returns across multiple jurisdictions (US indirect tax experience a plus).
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Proven leadership and people‑management experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and project‑management abilities.
