About the role
SMBC Group is seeking an Infrastructure Support Linux Administrator to join its Level 2 System Support team in Tralee. The role focuses on maintaining the stability, performance and security of Linux‑based infrastructure, automation and virtualization platforms supporting the bank’s global operations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 troubleshooting and resolution for Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and related infrastructure.
- Administer virtualization environments, including VMware, and ensure backup and recovery processes are reliable.
- Develop, maintain and enhance Ansible playbooks for configuration management, provisioning and operational automation.
- Manage identity and access controls across core platforms such as directory services and authentication mechanisms.
- Implement proactive monitoring and observability solutions to improve system health visibility.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational resilience.
Required profile
- Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise Linux system administration.
- Proven ability to work in large‑scale, mission‑critical environments.
- Focus on automation, stability and continuous improvement.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
