Instructor – Day Services (Letteragh) – Galway

About the role

Ability West is seeking a dedicated Instructor to join the Letteragh Day Services team in Rahoon, Galway. You will work directly with children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, helping them develop practical and social skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in arts, crafts, woodwork, cookery, horticulture, social skills and independent living activities.
• Design and run courses that promote personal care, community integration and social development.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, adapting duties as needed.
• Build respectful, equality‑based relationships with participants to encourage independence.

Required profile

• Experience supporting individuals who may display challenging behaviours.
• Ability to teach a wide range of day‑centre programmes.
• Full, current driving licence with manual car capability.
• Strong problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Valid manual‑driving licence.
