Instructor / Supervisor – Adult Support Services

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Instructor/Supervisor to support adults with intellectual disabilities in Wicklow Town. The role is based in the client’s home and involves helping them achieve personal outcomes, develop life‑skills and participate in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and implement a person‑centred approach aligned with client wishes and goals.
• Promote and protect client rights, dignity, choice and privacy.
• Identify and develop new interests and community roles for clients.
• Ensure overall wellbeing, including health and personal care.
• Teach life‑skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning and confidence building.
• Support clients in day‑service activities and community integration.

Required profile

• QQI Level 7 in Social Care (or foreign equivalent validated by QQI) and registration with CORU.
• CORU‑approved social care worker qualification and evidence of registration or eligibility.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
• Minimum 1 year post‑qualification experience working with adults with intellectual disability (desirable).
• Experience with complex needs and responsive behaviour.
• Passion for empowering people, team player, ability to work independently.
• Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong IT and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
