Instructor/Supervisor – Day Service for Adults with Intellectual Disability

About the role

The successful candidate will help develop and run a new day‑service for adults with intellectual disability in Gort, County Galway. The role combines programme delivery, personal care support and community liaison to promote personal development and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement educational, social, vocational, recreational and personal development programmes.
• Provide family support, coordinate social groups and organise evening activities.
• Deliver one‑to‑one community support and act as a key worker for service users.
• Support personal care needs including meals and hygiene for adults with autism and complex needs.
• Establish links with community groups, micro‑enterprises and other relevant partners.

Required profile

• Level 7 qualification relevant to the health sector.
• Minimum 1 year experience in intellectual disability services.
• Experience designing and delivering day‑service programmes.
• Full clean manual Irish driver’s licence.
• Fluency in verbal and written English.

• Annual salary range €36,291 – €52,406 (per annum).
• 22 days annual leave.
• 78 hours fortnightly schedule with flexible hours (8 am‑8 pm, weekdays and occasional weekends).
• Nine‑month probation period.
