Junior Maintenance Planner

About the role

The Junior Maintenance Planner will support the planning and scheduling of preventative, corrective and shutdown maintenance activities at a busy pharmaceutical site in County Kildare. This role acts as the central link between engineering, technicians, stores and production to ensure maintenance work is executed efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain weekly and daily maintenance plans for both preventative and corrective tasks.
• Prioritise jobs with the Plant Engineer based on safety, asset criticality, backlog and operational needs.
• Manage work orders in the CMMS, ensuring clear scope, priority, duration and parts availability.
• Coordinate parts, tools and job kitting with stores, flagging long‑lead items and raising purchase orders when required.
• Maintain standard job plans, update CMMS records and link relevant drawings, OEM manuals and service reports.
• Support shutdown and project planning, including vendor booking, inductions and RAMS compliance.
• Analyse CMMS data to monitor PM compliance, backlog ageing and schedule adherence, recommending improvements.
• Communicate schedule changes, escalate delays or resource conflicts and attend planning meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or Business.
• Ability to create, prioritise and manage maintenance schedules under pressure.
• Understanding of asset basics, task durations and trade requirements.
• Clear communication skills with technicians, engineers, stores and operations.

Required skills

• Experience with a CMMS (EAMS) for work order management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and planning dashboards.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Outlook and SharePoint.
• Ability to read technical drawings, job plan libraries and P&IDs.
